“Minor New feature for chatgpt. To the OpenAI Team, I’m writing to suggest a feature for ChatGPT. I’ve been using ChatGPT for a long time, especially for learning, research, and understanding new topics. One issue I frequently run into is that while reading an answer, I’ll come across a term, concept, or statement that I don’t fully understand. Currently, I have to either scroll to the bottom of the conversation and ask about it there, or reference the term manually in a new message. As conversations become longer, this can become repetitive and inconvenient. I was wondering if you could add a Quick Chat / Side Chat feature to the web app , similar to the side chat functionality available in the desktop app. This would allow users to ask for quick definitions, explanations, corrections, or clarifications while keeping the original conversation visible. For example, if I’m reading a long research response and come across a term I don’t understand, I could open the side chat, ask what it means, and get the explanation without losing my place in the original conversation. I think this would make ChatGPT significantly easier to use for learning and research, especially in longer convers”

“Well Needed Feature For LIBRARY. Feature Request: ChatGPT Librarian I’d like to propose a dedicated Librarian experience for ChatGPT: a persistent knowledge-management agent responsible for organizing, indexing, versioning, retrieving, and maintaining a user’s ChatGPT Library across long-term use. The problem I’ve encountered while using ChatGPT for substantial, ongoing development projects is that Projects and Work can accumulate enormous amounts of valuable information. As histories grow, older specifications, superseded decisions, current requirements, files, and project artifacts become increasingly difficult for both the user and AI to distinguish reliably. A Librarian could maintain a machine-readable knowledge index across the user’s Library, identifying relationships such as Current, Approved, Draft, Superseded, Historical, Experimental, and Unresolved , while preserving the underlying source material. This would benefit not only human organization but AI retrieval: future ChatGPT sessions could consult the Librarian’s structured index before retrieving historical source material, reducing continuity errors and outdated instructions being mistaken for current ones.
