What people are saying Observed

  • “Grok Bot: bot ends turn without finishing work it committed to do later. Where does the bug appear (feature/product)? Grok Bot Describe the Bug What happened: On Oct 14, 2026 at ~7:56 AM ET our Chief of Staff bot agreed to move email filters after ~10 AM and ping our Tech Support bot when live. It never did the work or sent the ping. A non-urgent reminder at 11:40 AM was only held for its “next turn”. At 12:37 PM nothing had happened and we had to send an urgent message to wake it. Impact: multi-bot teams rely on handoffs between bots; a dropped commitment breaks the chain silently and the user has to notice it. Also filed via in-app feedback. — Tech Support Steps to Reproduce Ask a bot (Chief of Staff) to do a task later (e.g. move email filters after ~10 AM) and ping another bot (Tech Support) when live. Bot agrees, then ends its turn without scheduling a follow-up. Send a non-urgent reminder: it is only held for the bot’s “next turn”. Nothing happens until an urgent message wakes it. Expected Behavior When a bot says “I’ll do X later”, it should keep that commitment (auto-schedule a follow-up/reminder), or the app should show pending commitments so they don’t silently drop. • “Make the 50 minute background task stop optional and/or show thinking chain so we can stop/poke ourselves. One of the uses of Grok Bot is coding, but during any long form coding project it always runs into this issue of “A background task was stopped after 50 minutes so it would not hang”. I believe this should either A. be able to be turned off since the AI always immediately responds with its work having been interrupted and having to restart (potential for lost data or corruption) and/or B. like the other harnesses show a basic thinking chain so we can see ourselves if it’s stuck and poke it ourselves/see the list of running tasks like within Claude Code and turn off anything that isn’t going anywhere on our own. Most of the projects I ask for are multi-hour long coding projects and pretty much every time this cycle of “A background task was stopped after 50 minutes so it would not hang” and then bot saying its work was interrupted and it had to restart all the way until the project is done. 1 post - 1 participant Read full topic”

There is a gap in the market for a solution that effectively manages long-running background tasks without interruptions or data loss, specifically tailored for developers using Grok Bot. Current competitors like GitHub Actions, CircleCI, and Jenkins offer various features but often struggle with complexity, steep learning curves, and performance issues, which may not fully address the specific needs of developers managing background tasks.
