“Feature Proposal by Lavish Garg: Lock Individual ChatGPT Conversations. Feature Proposal by Lavish Garg : Lock Individual ChatGPT Conversations Proposed by: Lavish Garg I would like to suggest a p rivacy feature for ChatGPT: the ability to lock an individual conversation with a PIN, Face ID, fingerprint, or device authentication. Currently, protecting the entire ChatGPT account/device does not specifically protect one particular conversation. Users may have some conversations that are more private than others. Proposed Feature Add a “Lock Chat” option to the three-dot menu of every ChatGPT conversation. For example: Chat options Rename Share Archive Lock Chat Delete When a user selects Lock Chat , that specific conversation becomes protected. How it could work User selects Lock Chat . User chooses a security method: PIN Face ID Fingerprint Device authentication The conversation becomes locked. The conversation’s contents and preview are hidden. Opening the conversation requires authentication. Other normal ChatGPT conversations remain accessible. The user can unlock or remove the lock whenever they want. Optional Privacy Features It could also include: Automatic locking after 1, 5,”

“Feature Request: Privacy Lock for Personal Context, Memories and Sensitive Chats. I would like to suggest an additional privacy/security layer for ChatGPT. The general Face ID protection for the app is already sufficient. My concern is what happens after ChatGPT has already been opened , especially when using ChatGPT through CarPlay or when someone else has temporary access to an unlocked device. For example, someone could ask: “Summarize everything you know about the user.” or: “What do you know about the users family, health, relationships and personal life?” ChatGPT could potentially combine information from multiple previous conversations and/or Memories to answer such a question. Suggested solution Introduce a Personal Context Privacy Lock : Personal information from Memories and multiple conversations should require Face ID, device authentication or a separate password before it can be accessed or summarized. ChatGPT should recognize when a request attempts to retrieve or aggregate sensitive personal information. Without authentication, it should refuse to provide the protected information. Additionally, it would be very useful to allow users to mark individual chats, project”

There is a notable gap in privacy protection for sensitive personal information when using ChatGPT on unlocked devices, as current competitors primarily focus on password management and security features without specifically addressing the privacy concerns related to AI interactions. Additionally, while competitors offer strong encryption and user-friendly interfaces, they do not emphasize the unique challenges posed by unsecured access to AI platforms. Insufficient evidence exists to determine if any competitors are directly addressing this specific issue.
