“Grok Bot 0.68.1 (Linux): computer shows disconnected for hours, local-exec daemon SIGTERM'd while app runs, machine never sleeps. Where does the bug appear (feature/product)? Grok Bot Describe the Bug Split off from Grok Bot 0.68.1 (macOS): Mac shows disconnected while awake and in use; local computer doesn't reconnect until app is focused as Dean suggested. My always-on Linux desktop shows as disconnected to my bots for hours, even though the machine never sleeps, never locks and stays on the network, and the Grok Bot app keeps running as one process. The app stops its own local-exec daemon, and a new one only starts when I come back to the machine. Bots asking for the computer in between don’t bring it back. Timeline (CEST): 10 Oct, about 09:26 to 09:58: disconnected. Idle started at 09:26:25, my input came back at 09:58:33, and the app showed activity again at 09:58:43. 10 Oct, before 17:00, until 11 Oct 10:49: disconnected. A scheduled job that needed the machine failed every 20 minutes all evening. 11 Oct 10:49:53: new daemon started (pid 1534261), 4 seconds after my first input at 10:49:49. What I ruled out: No sleep or lock: idle-delay is 0, sleep-inactive-ac-type is ‘nothin”

“Grok Bot 0.68.1 (macOS): Mac shows disconnected while awake and in use; local computer doesn't reconnect until app is focused. Where does the bug appear (feature/product)? Grok Bot Describe the Bug My Mac’s computer link shows disconnected (connected:false) for long stretches even though the Mac is awake, on AC power, online, and I’m actively using it (often chatting with Grok Bot from it). Machine Shell from my bots fails until I bring the Grok Bot window to the front, then it reconnects within a minute. It really isn’t disconnected. Times observed (America/Chicago) Thu Oct 8: ~6:13–6:22 PM. Chrome was frontmost until 6:21:19 PM; Grok Bot came forward and the link was back by 6:22. Fri Oct 9: ~9:00–10:03 AM (helper log shows a connection timeout after ~2:07 AM, then nothing until the helper was replaced at 10:07:00, one second after Grok Bot came to the front at 10:06:59). What I checked No sleep/wake events in pmset log; on AC, display sleep off. No Wi-Fi drops in that window. Grok Bot holds no power assertion; macOS logged it as running but not visible while the link was down. ~/.grokbot/local-exec-daemon.log: a connection timeout, then silence until the window got focus. “Grok Bot 0.68.1 on Mac mini: local computer drops while idle and does not self-heal. Where does the bug appear (feature/product)? Grok Bot Describe the Bug Mac mini (Apple silicon), Grok Bot 0.68.1. The Mac does not sleep, the app process stays running, and the network stays up. Chat still works. The Computers / local-exec connection drops while nobody is using the app, and it stays down until someone clicks the app or reopens the window. It does not reconnect by itself. This matches forum.cursor.com/grok-bot-computers-local-exec-keeps-dropping-while-mac-mini-stays-on . Staff said on Aug 30 that a cloud idle makes the Mac helper shut itself down, a fix would ship after 0.29.0, and it usually heals within a minute. We are on 0.68.1 and it does not heal until the user interacts. The daemon log shows repeated ConnectError (ECONNRESET) and SIGTERM, then a restart. There is no keepalive setting. The daemon already pings every 10 seconds. Steps to Reproduce 1、Leave Grok Bot open on a Mac mini that is set not to sleep (pmset sleep 0). 2、Do not touch the app. The display may turn off. 3、After idle time (we saw this around 04:30 on Oct 3, Oct 6, and Oct 8, and at 21:56 on Oct 8, Asia/Shangh”

Insufficient evidence to determine a specific market gap for Grok Bot on Mac mini, as competitors primarily focus on real-time communication and collaboration without addressing idle connection issues. While existing solutions like Slack, Microsoft Teams, and Zoom offer various features, none specifically target the automatic reconnection problem faced by Grok Bot users.
