What people are saying Observed
“Grok Bot’s computer / desktop became unreachable or unusable (browser/desktop actions fail). Where does the bug appear (feature/product)? Grok Bot Describe the Bug What happened: Grok Bot’s computer / desktop became unreachable or unusable (browser/desktop actions fail). Update Computer and Reset failed. Reset showed roughly: “Reset couldn’t finish. Grok Bot’s computer may be in a partial / incomplete state — retry to run the reset again.” After repeated failures, Update and Reset are now grayed out / disabled. Chat still works for text; shared Agent Computer browser/desktop does not. Steps to Reproduce Already confirmed (per support instructions): I have STOPPED clicking Reset or Update. I have NOT reinstalled the app. I have NOT signed out / signed back in (waiting for your guidance). Support told me not to Reset/Update again while the team recovers on the backend (ticket T-G77132). “Grok Bot computer broken, need backend recovery. Where does the bug appear (feature/product)? Grok Bot Describe the Bug My Grok Bot shared computer has been broken since Oct 5. Pretty much every Shell call just hangs. Shared computer’s desktop can show a black terminal window, but nothing actually runs. Almost all my bots are stuck because of this. Steps to Reproduce Ask a bot to do any task that needs shell, the bot keep showing working but response nothing Screenshots / Screen Recordings Operating System MacOS Version Information Grok Bot 0.68.1 Additional Information Account: karlarso@gmail.com Can someone do something backend to get the bot’s shared computer back to work? “Grok Bot shared computer fully wedged since 2026-10-05 — Shell dead, Update/Recover/Reset all fail — please reprovision. My Grok Bot shared computer (box) has been completely unusable since 2026-10-05. Every Shell command hangs and times out (even echo times out after 840s). The desktop renders but the terminal stays black and the execution layer never comes up. “Update Grok Bot’s Computer” shows “already up to date” and won’t reinstall. “Reset Grok Bot’s Computer” stalls mid-reset and never finishes. “Recover” is not offered on either desktop or iPhone. Fully quitting (Cmd+Q) and reopening on every device didn’t help. I’ve stopped pressing Update/Reset to avoid making the partial state worse. This matches several other forum reports that were resolved by a staff-side reprovision/rebuild, with Bots, files, and logins preserved. I suspect the shared machine ran out of memory (multiple bots with browsers open at once). Could someone please server-side reprovision / recover this computer? Almost none of my bots can work without Shell. While existing options like TeamViewer and AnyDesk offer user-friendly interfaces and strong performance, their costs can be prohibitive for businesses. Additionally, many free solutions, such as Chrome Remote Desktop and Microsoft Remote Desktop, have limitations that may not meet the needs of users requiring more comprehensive functionality.
